One of the fundamental choices when it comes to fitting any hydronic heat system is what kind of fuel to use to heat the water. So how to choose hot water boilers for baseboard heating systems?
Baseboard radiant heating systems are remarkably flexible systems. This is one of the reason they are so popular - another is that they provide all the advantages of the big old wall-hanging radiators without the ugliness of the big white hulking panel taking up a significant proportion of one wall. Sure, they can be painted, buy that really does not camouflage them.
Hot water baseboard heaters on the other hand tuck neatly into the crease between wall and floor. A big improvement. But how to power them? The good thing is that all you need is hot water. There are plenty of ways to get this!
Baseboard heating hot water can come from any suitable boiler and you can choose the fuel to meet your situation. For example if oil is easy to obtain in your area (and, ideally, there is plenty of competition between local suppliers) then you could use this as you preferred fuel. Modern wood boiler are a really good idea and are ecologically friendly (if you get you wood from a sustainable source).
The traditional choice in many parts of the world are gas central heating boilers. These can be powered by liquid petroleum gas or by natural gas - a great option if your area is supplied. Whatever your situation there will be a smart fuel choice.
