Ins and outs of baseboard heat hot water

A combination of good looks and function underlies all good design. Radiators that measure ten feet across and five feet high have for years offered function - they heat the home very well. But it would be hard to argue for them in the looks department. Luckily baseboard heat hot water has meant that you can have both an efficiently and pleasantly heated home without the eyesore of big rads in each and every room.

Baseboard radiant heating systems have the efficiency of the other hydronic heating systems (with wall hanging radiators or with underfloor piping), but without the disadvantages. They are much better to look at than wall rads and much easier to install than underfloor.

Whilst hydronic radiant floor heating systems might be the ultimate in hiding away the heat, they are not always practical or desirable due to the difficulty in retrofitting. You need to take up flooring or sometimes install new.

Baseboard hot water fins on the other hand are a cinch to install if you already have a central heating system - a boiler, pump and radiators. It is just a question of sliding out the old radiators and slipping in your smart new fins. A doddle of a job for any central heating fitter. For a competent home improvement person, this is a feasible job, so why not take a look at the attractive baseboard models on offer these days!
