Why under floor hot water heating systems?

Sometimes under floor hot water heating systems can be a little like magic. They are completely hidden from sight yet they bring a fabulous even heat to rooms.

In these particular hydronic heating systems, hot water courses beneath the flooring - running back and forth in largish pipes and turning the whole floor into one even temperature radiator.

Anyone with wall radiators and pets in their home may have noticed how the animals tend to settle on those parts of the floor where the hot water pipe comes close to the surface to deliver water to the radiator. It is only natural, and with underfloor, you get the whole surface to be like this. The human animal tends to like it very much.

The floor heating systems that use hot water clearly need one of the range of home heating boilers to heat up the water. It is then pumped strongly around a long network of pipes that have been laid under the floor. Obviously this can mean some disturbance if you choose to retrofit such a system to your home. Many people find it worthwhile, whilst others choose to install the system in extensions to their current property or if they have a new home built.
