Laars pool heaters and their stable mates

Laars pool heaters are one of the biggest names in the business, though the company history takes a little untangling. To get the right picture we have to look at Jandy brand name.

Jandy started life in the fifties as the company behind the fist auto pool cleaner. In LA in the same decade Laars was set up selling innovative pool heaters. Laars was actually bought out by Teledyne back in 66, and Jandy was bought by the same company in 96. The result is that both these companies are part of the floated company Water Pik Technologies, and all the pool products run under the name Jandy.

The important thing however is that they carry a very impressive range of under and aboveground swimming pool heaters that utilize the best technology for high efficiency and low emissions.

Just a few years ago the company added an arm dealing with swimming pool heat pumps through the purchase of a company called Air Energy Heat Pumps.

Jandy or Laars have a good range that should meet all needs. They pride themselves on continuing the innovation of the the companies from which they were built, and offer products like the highly automated LX that they claim pretty much looks after itself, through to powerful units like the Hot Shot that are ideal for stretching the swimming season of above ground pools.
