The types of baseboard heating systems available

Many people have seen and liked baseboard heating systems in other peoples homes. What people seem to like about them is that they are comfact and unobtrustive - both visually and aurally. That is to say they are quiet and they do not look ugly.

There are choices with the field of baseboard level heating systems however. The main choice is between electric baseboard heat systems and water-filled radiators.

A big plus for many who do not currently have hot water systems is the simple fact that electric baseboard heaters do not need as much installation - they do not need water carrying pipes, nor do they need a boiler installation.

On the other hand baseboard hot water heating systems tend to be much more efficient. Partly this is for the same reasons that gas tends to win out over electricity - you get more heat for your bucks because it is cheaper to buy gas.

Both baseboard radiant heating systems, be it hot water or electrical offer advantages over forced air systems that are more than just aesthetic - the heat does not dry out the air as much and it does not circulate allergens so easily - better for asthmatics and allegy sufferers. It is heating option well worth looking into.
