About flooring electric radiant heat

When it comes to flooring electric radiant heat can make a big difference to the quality of your living experience. For a start you can start to consider those lovely flooring surfaces like slate tiles that you previously discounted due to their winter coldness.

There are plenty of types of commercial electric radiant heat - from blown air to radiators - and they all share the big advantage that they are the easiest of all systems to add to a house. There is no odd boiler system to install and there is no worry about the fuel course (running out of heating oil and all that).

The under-foot stuff has a couple of advantages over other types of electric heat. The first is that it is out of the way - no baseboard units, radiators or vents. The second is that it is silent. It just sits happily under the floor providing a pleasant bottom up heat.

These systems, things like electric radiant heat thinset tile, are also quite efficient at turning the electricity into heat, and can be fitted with accurate local thermostats that allow some zoning of your heating system.

In many cases this electric radiant floor heat is used as a supplement to other heating - and there is no doubt that it is one of the nicest additions to a tile floor.
