Looking at solar heating panels

The sun is by far the most impressive heating source in our vicinity. Never mind that is is ninety two million miles away, it gives us plenty of heat. What is more, we could make better use of it! Solar heating panels are designed to capture even more of the magnificent power of the sun and use it to keep our homes warm in winter.

Most of us are familiar with swimming pool solar heaters - the idea behind home solar heating is usually the same. That is, basically, the sun is used to heat up water in solar panels. Instead of then being fed into the pool, this hot water is fed into the home, bringing the heat with it.

In other words we are using a set up of solar hot water heaters combined with central heating technology to get a nice warm home for (almost) no running costs.

One really effective way to heat the home is to use the solar water heating to simply replace (or supplement) the radiant floor heat boilers in a floor heat system. All that needs to be done is to pump the water around the network of underfloor pipes then back up or out to the panels.
